Overview
Cleveland Sage, a fragrant and resinous variety native to Southern California’s chaparral regions, carries a grounding, sun-warmed aroma with soft floral undertones. Traditionally used by Indigenous peoples for both medicinal and ceremonial purposes, this sage offers cleansing and clarity — for body, space, and spirit.
Why We Love It
We love Cleveland Sage for its remarkable ability to support both wellness and energetic balance. Its aromatic properties help open the airways and promote respiratory comfort, while also calming the nervous system when brewed as a tea or infusion. Topically, it can be infused into oil for a soothing rub on sore muscles. Beyond the physical, its scent and smoke are often used in energetic practices to reset and refresh space, encouraging focus, clarity, and a grounded sense of calm.
How to Use
🫖 Tea: Steep a small amount (¼–½ tsp) for a fragrant, calming tea.
🍃 Infusion: Combine with grounding herbs like holy basil or lemon balm.
💧 Oil: Infuse dried leaves in a carrier oil for an aromatic topical rub.
✨ Energy Work: Burn gently or use as potpourri to reset and refresh your space.
Note of Care: While generally safe for most adults when used as a tea, infusion, or aromatic, you should avoid consuming in large amounts internally. Concentrated sage oils may be strong and could affect people with seizures (high-thujone content in some sages).
