Bee Balm

Bee balm (Monarda spp.), also called wild bergamot, is a beautiful perennial that has blooms of red, pink, purple or white in mid- to late summer. Ours have been mostly purple this year. This is our first year offering bee balm and we are thrilled with it. We have limited amounts so get it while you can. All of our herbs are food grade quality - grown using organic practices and hand harvested.

A member of the mint family, bee balm is also known as bergamot, Oswego tea, and horsemint.  It is native to North America and has been used traditionally  in teas to help with digestive issues, bloating, sore throats, flatulence, menstrual pain, relief of insomnia, menstrual pain, and nausea. Bee balm is also a natural antiseptic, high in thymol, and anti-microbial. Applied topically, it can help with bee stings, rashes, and minor wounds.

Bee balm has a delicious minty taste and a pleasing citrusy aroma.
