Bee Balm

Bee balm (Monarda spp.), also called wild bergamot, is a beautiful perennial that has blooms of red, pink, purple or white in mid- to late summer. We are out of stock right now but anticipate growing a beautiful crop this year.

A member of the mint family, bee balm is also known as bergamot, Oswego tea, and horsemint.  It is native to North America and has been used traditionally  in teas to help with digestive issues, bloating, sore throats, flatulence, menstrual pain, relief of insomnia, menstrual pain, and nausea. It is often recognized for its medicinal properties, and it is primarily classified as both an alterative and nervine. Bee balm is also a natural antiseptic, high in thymol, and anti-microbial. Applied topically, it can help with bee stings, rashes, and minor wounds.

Bee balm has a delicious minty taste and a pleasing citrusy aroma.
